China and Israel Jointly Issue Souvenir Leaf
2002-01-24

In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Israel issue a souvenir leaf. On the afternoon of Jan 24, Mr. Reuven Rivlin, Minister of Communication, and Chinese Ambassador Pan Zhanlin cancelled the first leaf together at the Ministry of Communication in Tel Aviv. Both sides have attached great importance to this event and it took the Chinese Philatelic Cooperation, the Israel Philatelic Service and the two Foreign Ministries months long to prepare for the issuing. The stamps on the souvenir leaf were contributed by both countries and cancelled by the specially designed cancellations. As Ambassador Pan points out, it will not only be a gift to the stamp collectors, but also be a treasure to both peoples for enhancing mutual understanding.
