The 56th World Health Assembly is due to be held in Geneva, Switzerland from May 19 to 28. Vice Premier of the State Council and Health Minister Wu Yi will head a delegation of the Chinese Government to attend this conference.

The WHA is the superior authority of the World Health Organization (WHO). It is held annually to review the major public health issues. The Chinese Government attaches importance to the important role of the WHO in the global public health field, and has maintained long-term friendly relations and cooperation with the WHO.
