Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang's Remarks on the International Community's Assistance to the Earthquake-Hit Zone in Lushan, Sichuan
2013-04-23 12:00

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Qin Gang remarked on April 21:

After an earthquake hit Lushan of China's Sichuan Province on April 20, the international community immediately expressed sympathy and support to the Chinese government and people, and some countries offered to provide assistance in different forms. The Chinese government and people express sincere appreciation and thanks for that. The Chinese government is going all out for the rescue work. At present, China has guaranteed rescue and medical treatment capability and sufficient rescue materials. In light of the inconvenient traffic and telecommunications in the quake zone, foreign rescue and medical teams or relief materials are not required now. We will make requests to relevant countries once needed. The Red Cross Society of China has publicized the contact information for international fund assistance.
