Since the establishment of diplomatic relationship between China and Israel, the science and technology
cooperation between two countries develop smoothly and healthy. The cooperation sectors have widened from
basic research, agricultural technology as well as water resource management to information technology and
biotechnology etc. The R&D cooperation on Hi – Tech industry between two countries has been developed
recently. Different ways and channels to promote science and technology cooperation have been established,
especially the expert exchange and professional training between two countries develop rapidly.

   Until the end of 2000, the agreements on science and technology cooperation between Chinese government
and Israeli government have reached 4 and other kinds of agreements or memorandum on science and technology
cooperation between China and Israel have reached 11. Two R&D cooperation Funds have been established and  
have supported 15 cooperation projects.

   In recent years, China has send 200 – 250 scientist and technicians per year to Israel to take part in different
science and technology training courses and Israel has send 100 – 130 experts per year to China to do technical
service. The science and technology cooperation trend on different local level governments between China and
Israel has been strengthened.
